Free workshops for local violence against women and girls commissioners

As you will have seen, at the end of 2016 Home Office introduced a new National Statement of Expectations for responding to violence against women and girls (VAWG), together with a toolkit to support commissioners in commissioning services.

To better support commissioners to use these resources and meet the expectations, the Home Office, Lloyds Bank Foundation for England & Wales, Imkaan and Women’s Aid have come together to offer free training and advice to VAWG commissioners through a series of regional workshops.

These workshops will explore how to implement the National Statement of Expectations and to make the best use of the commissioning toolkit in your role. It will also share learning from the latest research about the experiences of commissioning VAWG services across the country.

The half day interactive sessions (12:30 – 17:00) will be led by representatives from Home Office, Imkaan, Women’s Aid and fellow commissioners who will provide practical advice about how to use the available tools in your area and draw on their own experience of commissioning VAWG services.

Workshops have been organised for:

·         7 June, Leeds

·         14 June, Manchester

·         21 June, Birmingham

·         29 June, Bristol

If you are or a colleague are responsible for commissioning VAWG services and would like to attend the free workshop, please contact me at policy@lloydsbankfoundation.org.uk to book a place. Please be aware that places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
